SIMPLE MACHINE – CATAPULT
A catapult consists of an arm with a spoon to contain a load to throw, a point of support and a counterweight that will help launch the object. In our case we will use a rubber to get the resistance necessary for the operation. Which object goes further when thrown by the catapult? What is the reason for the object to reach a closer or further distance? Do you dare to knock down a wall using the catapult?
INCLINED PLANE
An inclined plane or ramp is a flat and resistant surface that allows things to rise and fall through it. Uploading an inclined plane will be easier than lifting it vertically. One of the funniest inclined planes is the slide! What is the difference between the longest and highest slides with the shortest and lowest slides?
JOINTS / ARTICULATIONS
It is a link that is responsible for joining two solids so that they move sharing a common point. Our body has several joints such as elbows and knees. What other articulations do you see in your friends?
PULLEYS
A pulley is a wheel that has a groove in its periphery, which rotates around an axis that passes through its center. A rope with a load attached to one of its ends passes through the slot. By exerting a force at the other end, the load is lifted more comfortably and with less effort.
GEARS
It is a mechanism used to transmit power from one component to another within a machine. They are formed by two toothed wheels that are hooked to change direction to movement or to enhance the rotation. Do you dare to investigate the different types and applications of gears?
